. Monday-itus .

Apr 12, 2009 Personal
as you well know,,, it is Monday.

yesterday was so brightalicious, sunny & warm... that as i was on my morning walk with Jonsie, i couldn't help but notice how 'monday' today seemed. like the type of Monday i used to dread on Sunday nights before school... the carefree weekend was over & back to school & homework/test/project/assignments we went.

those school days are definitely far behind me however, the funny thing is that even though i work weekends now, there is still that almost embedded feeling of so much to do, where do i start? on Mondays. a Monday-itus, as i like to call, of sorts.

today i decided to take this cloudy day & see it BRIGHT. on my walk, i realized that the sun shone so brightly yesterday that the clouds were actually giving it a rest by taking over for the day.

the funny thing is that i also realized how that simple thought could be a great metaphor in our own lives -- how sometimes we are so on the go that simply stopping for a day,,, maybe covering ourselves up with a blanket & snuggling to a good movie, is just the right amount of 'medicine' or 'clouds' we need to rejuvenate & shine even brighter the next day?!

this year more than ever, i have really been working on taking 'cloud-covered' breaks so that my body, mind & spirit were rested enough to shine, as well as appreciate & encompass all the beautiful light that surrounds us daily.

as many of you may know, one of my biggest joys in those 'cloud-covered' breaks is my Jones. he always lights up even the most stormy days & literally makes me laugh out loud daily.

i was in the midst of editing & prepping the blog post of an awesome engagement session that i captured up in the Upper Peninsula when i came across these three beauties of my sweet Jonsers....

they made me smile big & almost, if not just for a second, the feeling of Monday-itus i was having earlier, was forgotten.
lastly, if you happen to be having the case of 'Monday-itus', as well... and those images above don't do the trick of planting a big smile upon your face... just do yourself a 6-ish minute favor & watch this video below. a dear friend sent this to me over the weekend & i promise you, it will make you smile. it is about a most incredible woman, Hazel, who is truly living life in every sense of the word. makes you stop & think -- as well as be inspired!

happy MONDAY!
