Spark Sesssion : Heather & Jim

Oct 23, 2012 Portrait
i can't remember a time when i wasn't intrigued with people, relationships & well, life in general.

it was just about a year ago when i was in the car chatting with Heather about a little bit of all of the above, along with this new idea i had for a different type of session. at the time, i didn't exactly know what to call it but after doing the very first one with Heather & Jim, i think the 'spark session' seems perfectly appropriate.

the 'spark session' is a type of session where i encourage you to take some time for you & your loved one, to reconnect with each other and re-ignite that 'spark' that is always within us, but yet so easily buried among the hustle & bustle of our everyday life.

after the session i had asked Heather & Jim to tell me what their feelings were if they felt like sharing. they gave me some great feedback, but then a couple weeks later i received this email from Heather... which in my opinion, says it best.

'Hi friend,

You asked for some feedback on the incredible session you gave us... and I provided a little, verbally, but I thought I would give you more. See, the night of the session, we were kind of smitten, and in a state of weirdness with each other. And it's exactly because of what you said in the intro -

it's not everyday we fall in love with each other.

Honestly, this session format gave us something really special like that - i can't tell you the last time we looked into each others' eyes for the sole purpose of looking into each others' eyes. it was a little uncomfortable for us as we were doing it - just because it's not something we do everyday... or every week, even. but i can't tell you what it did for us. -and i'm in tears writing this...

the questions you asked us were great. it was a little hard to think of just the right answer at the time, but it sparked us to think more about it later. that night and later in the week, i kept thinking... "how should i have answered that?" or "NOW i have the perfect answer to what your best features are... it's not your facial features, but something much more than that". having to be touching the whole time was interesting, too... in a fun and good way. we "touch" but not for the purpose of just touching and making the other feel comfortable and such.

i don't need to tell you how much fun we had with the fun questions, either. we loved it. loved the whole thing. I was really afraid Jim wasn't going to feel comfortable with the level of depth, but he did! he was totally cool with it. and he liked it! he said, "we needed that".

so... CHEERS to you and this session format! love it, and am sooooo thankful to you for all it brought to us. not just photos - but a spark.'
