Wednesday's Whimsy : Look Down!
a most happy "wednesday's whimsy"... and yes, i know... it is technically Thursday, however days & weeks are completely meshing so i figured, let us just pretend it is still Wednesday for a second.
that way, i will feel a little less stressed about the fact that if it was Thursday, then that would also mean that the weekend was almost here & i have so much less time to get everything on my mammoth 'to-do' list accomplished!
so, with that all said.... clearly i didn't get around to posting my usual "wednesday's whimsy" yesterday... i just couldn't muster up the energy at a little before midnight to get 'er done! yesterday was another long work day, but a great one. i shot a portrait session with the newest, cutest addition to a beautiful family... that post will come soon... as will the many, many posts i have yet to post (can i say the word 'post' one more time in a sentence?!). i sincerely cannot thank everyone enough for being so patient during what is still a most busy, busy season! the great love i put into my fine art photography is something i enjoy more than i can put into words... but of course, as we know, all art takes time... and when time is limited, well, you know... it takes even more time!
anywho, speaking of 'time'... i must stop my babble so that i can get back to editing & prepping for my afternoon portrait session. another blog post will be up soon, though!
...and today, i leave you with another thought that occurred to me on this morning's walk with my precious little Jones in correspondence to a previous post you might remember. i realized another wondrous thing about the fall season:
...we also need to look down!
yes, look down... & i do not mean this in a negative way at all. seriously, you will be so surprised at all the natural artwork that is around us at this current moment. i know we are definitely sensing a shift of fall to winter, especially with this past week. i don't know about most of you, however for me... it almost made me feel a tinge of sadness because i do so love our Michigan fall season.
however, today, i snapped out of it! i realized that the dreary weather may not give us a warm, fuzzy feeling right off the bat, however it may just give us a different sense of perspective that we all need at times.
it may just remind us that there is beauty in everything... that sun & warmth doesn't necessarily always equal happiness, just a different sensation that easily makes our bodies smile. so what will make our bodies smile now?
maybe, just maybe, we need to shift our way of thinking? what about nature getting it's rest, too? so that when spring comes around it is ultra fresh & bountiful? and if this be the case,,,
i think all we need to do to appreciate this time, as well, is look down & all around us. the crisp air cutting through the wet leaves & the colors are almost more poignant than in any sunlight.
it is just a thought... & with that thought, i leave you with a few images of what i saw in my simple stroll around my lil' neighborhood, interrupted with a few of Jones, of course!
the best part is, you really don't have to go too far. it is all around you.
a most happy day to you!
with love, heart & gratitude,
ksen

yes, i really did look down for this image... it is a bush!

Jonsie loooooves the leaves (side note: isn't he growing up to be so handsome!?) :

my sweet Jones looks so small from this angle....

but he sure is growing up to be such a BIG boy!

i love, love the feeling in both of these images :

this one has a very dreamy feeling to it that i *heart* :

the two images below happen to depict Jones the best as of late -- always on the go & very playful
:

i came across this single leaf suctioned to the tree! just AWESOME!

and i realized we should still remember to look up! there is much to be seen everywhere...

(this color is real, no joke!)

enter,,, my little dreamworld :

peace out y'all! happy day to you... see you soon!
