Wednesday's.whimsy : Look.up!

Oct 15, 2008 Personal
happy wednesday! you didn't think i would miss two weeks in a row did you???! it is funny how every year i know how busy this time of year gets & yet, every year it amazes me as if it is the first time. silly, silly me.

however, i am going to try my darndest to keep up with my regularly programmed "wednesday's whimsy" ! don't give up on me yet!!! there are literally SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO many things i want to "wednesday's whimsy" about (and no, i am not exaggerating in the least bit with the 'O's' ) however, my time right now will only permit so much. :I

so today, my friends, i ask you to do one simple thing for me the next time you venture outside...

look up. yes, simply look up. "why?" you may ask?

well, the other morning i was taking Jones out for a bit of fresh air & a little walk. the smell was so crisp, it felt only natural to take that first step and

.stop.
.pause.
.& breathe in deep.

as i was doing so, my eyes scoped panoramicly (yes, that is officially my word ) around my neighborhood & then i did it.

i looked up.

and, i am not kidding you,,, it was as if i was a child discovering nature for the first time all over again. i must of stood there like that for a good ten minutes and i can only guess what my neighbors were thinking -- but... i didn't care. it was a moment... a moment that we can all experience & share, and i would love for you to do so today.

this moment is free & around you everywhere. it is also fading quickly as winter is truly at its heals. so before it is too late & you hear yourself saying "i wish i had taken more time to enjoy fall"... i am telling you, even if you don't have the time (cause i sure know i don't!), all you have to do is look up for a good minute & you will feel something all your own that will make your heart smile inside out.

as i was looking up, my mind was clicking away, snapping pictures of it all. so of course, i had to document it literally as well...

and this is what i saw :
and i owe it all to my little Jones... who is reminding me daily to truly take 'time to smell the roses'...
isn't he getting so big!
many more blog posts to come... and i mean MANY!!! i cannot express how much i appreciate everyone's patience -- thank you, truly, from the bottom of my heart. Heather & Adam, yours is next... so stay tuned!
