Healthy Apple Crisp
When the air turns crisp, so should your apples. 😉🍏
This easy, healthy Apple Crisp is my husband’s absolute favorite— so while I was whipping some up for his birthday last week, I thought why not share it with you all, too?! ☺️
This dessert is cozy, wholesome & packed with fiber & antioxidants… skin-on apples, organic gluten free oats, nuts + a touch of maple syrup. 👌🏼
Perfect for weeknights, gatherings, or just treating yourself. 🫶
INGREDIENTS👇🏼:
✨Filling:
▫️5 medium apples, sliced thin, skin on
▫️2 tbsp maple syrup or honey
▫️1 tbsp lemon juice
▫️1½ tsp cinnamon
▫️½ tsp vanilla extract
▫️Pinch or two of salt
✨Topping:
▫️1 cup rolled oats (I used gluten free)
▫️½ cup almond flour (or oat flour)
▫️¼ cup chopped nuts (pecans and/or walnuts)
▫️¼ cup melted coconut oil (I used @perfectsupplements ✨code KSEN10 ☺️) or butter
▫️3 tbsp maple syrup or honey
▫️1 tsp cinnamon
▫️Pinch or two of salt
DIRECTIONS👇🏼:
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) & grease an 8x8” baking dish.
2. Toss apple slices with maple syrup, lemon juice, cinnamon, vanilla & salt; spread in dish.
3. Mix topping ingredients together until crumbly; then sprinkle over apple concoction.
4. Bake 35–40 min until apples are tender and topping is golden. (*Cover loosely with parchment paper if topping browns too fast.)
5. Serve warm with Greek yogurt or coconut cream for extra protein & creaminess. 😋
Save this post to make later… or better yet, make it tonight & let your kitchen smell like fall. 🫶
