“Until one has loved an animal,a part of one’s soul remains unawakened.” -Anatole France

Our sweetest boy, Jones, also known as Jones-y, Jonesy Ponesy, Jonesy Ponesy Macaronsie, Reindeer Piglet, Chicken McNugget, Popcorn Paws, & the original Buddiesss, passed away peacefully on what happened to be his half birthday. He gave us 14.5 of the very BEST years. There is a crater size hole in my heart and, although I knew this time would eventually come, nothing prepares you for this type of loss.

If you knew Jones, you knew he was no ordinary dog. We used to call him "Part Human, Part Handsome" because of how he could speak to us through his eyes & gentle flicks of his ears (& obviously because he was so ridiculously handsome ). He was with me through the hardest of times to the very best of times. He made me laugh out loud daily & filled my heart with an inexplainable love. He was a pillow for me to cuddle into & a daily reminder to get outside & enjoy the little things. He would always rather play than eat, & back in the day you could NOT get him to stop playing frisbee. He was my first 'born' & came to me at a time that looked like it would be the very worst time to get a dog, but God knew that it was indeed the very BEST time. He saved me when I needed it the most. He was our gentle protector, our love, our "good, gooood boy", our wise beautiful soul. I will never take it for granted how truly blessed we were to have such an incredible, irreplaceable dog.

Thank you, my boy, for awakening my soul & for loving us all so well. Until we meet again in Heaven, I pray you are running freely in the most gorgeous fields & that Dedo is rubbing your ears, throwing you a frisbee, smelling your 'popcorn paws' & saying, "You're such a good boy! You're such a good boy!" as he scratches your neck... just as we did daily. I will love you forever & ever.

“The dog is the most faithful of animals and would be much esteemed were it not so common.
Our Lord God has made His greatest gifts the commonest.” -Martin Luther
A BIG thank you @eccampbellphotography for capturing this first photo for us this past October & for a few other ones in this bunch. They are PRICELESS to us.
