Wednesday's Whimsy : Just Because
it all started at Tim Horton's. it was early 2007. after countless enthusiastic emails, Laura & i finally met up to discuss her upcoming wedding, look through more of my work and chat endlessly about everything & anything over some 'low-fat' cappuccino coolers. our meeting lasted a little over 3 hours,,, and was merely the first of many Tim Horton's get-togethers. 
we always used to joke, 'who needs Mortons? we've got Tim Horton's!' 
truly, it didn't matter where we were, we had a blast & laughed A LOT. Laura's company is always a delight.

last week, as i opened up my door to let my sweet Jonsie out & i could barely believe my eyes. Laura had stopped by my place & literally squeezed this thoughtFULL goodness in between my door slots :
although i know Laura very well, and can concretely say she has a 'heart of gold'... it wasn't her sweetness that was surprised me that day. the fact that she took the time out of her day to make mine,,, 'just because'... showcased her true selfless nature & filled a whole new light into my heart.
from the words in her eloquently & heartFULLy written card, to the fresh smell bursting from the purple & blue hydrangea's, to the smiley-faced cookies... i was overcome with an unexplainable feeling. and i knew, i had to blog about it.
my mind started stirring with thought. what if,,, we went out of our way merely once a week to put some happy into someone's happiness? what would your world be like,,, or better yet, what would the world be like then?! and why don't we take the time to do so more often? why is it that we tend to put stuff like this on hold? to me, there is nothing better than taking the time for heartFULL expressions. in the end, they are what matter most.
so on this beaut of a wednesday, i ask you this --
when is the last time you did something like that for someone,,, friend, family, partner, co-worker? when is the last time you did something 'just because'?!
what is stopping you from doing it now, today?

... and as if the present wasn't sweet enough, Laura purposely picked out the Tim Horton's Smile Cookies because both of us share a HUGE love for children & all of the proceeds go to the Children's Health Foundation!!! can you beat that?!! truly, could she be any cooler? ! watch out Tim Horton's --- i see many more of your delish smileys in my future.

there are less than five months left of 2009 -- craziness, isn't it!? although i am happy to report that i have definitely made the time to spend more moments with loved ones these past 7 months...even if they are in 1/2 hour to 1 hour-ish increments , i feel a whole new sense of motivation in actively pursuing my own "just because's". in the end, i feel your time & heart is the greatest of gifts that you can give.
