Increase Your Energy

There are so many things DAILY that can try to take down our energy — but the best part is that we can actively choose to work against those energy suckers!

Here are my top 5 things I do personally when I need an energy pick me up :

1. Get up and MOVE! Go for a walk. Do a quick workout. Dance in your living room to your favorite song. Jump on a trampoline if you have one! Exercising floods your system with feel-good endorphins & instantly releases stress & increases energy. Just find something that you love doing & start incorporating it more into your daily routine.

2. BE MINDFUL of your thoughts & make effort to negate negative thoughts by choosing to think of things you are grateful for. Write them down if you can! Having a thankful heart increases the energy in your spirit, and also the outlook on your day.

3. Listen or watch something uplifting or call up a friend who you know will make you smile and/or laugh. LAUGHTER triggers the release of endorphins (the body’s natural feel-good chemicals) which in their turn, promote an overall sense of better well-being.

4. Take a few minutes & MEDITATE! It has been shown that people who meditated daily continued to display increased mindfulness, purpose in life, social support & decreased illness symptoms. A few minutes a day can make a world of difference!

5. LET GO of the past. We must learn from our past and release any energetic burden we may be carrying such as resentments, pain, sadness, guilt, anger, hurt, etc. Make the choice within to make peace with whatever may be holding you back from the past so that you may move forward with ease & renewed energy. Simply recognizing it & saying out loud, “I release whatever is holding me back today” can be so healing.
