Believe In Yourself

"My father gave me the greatest gift anyone could give another person: he believed in me."
—Jim Valvano

I've been feeling my Dad's presence a lot lately, especially since I began my 100 days of living awake. It's something I didn't really expect from the challenge, let alone just shy of 20 days in. I've been feeling his peacefulness, hearing his laughter, imagining him beaming at all the new things our children are learning to do, all the hilarious things that come out of their mouths & loving seeing them just be playful. I've had moments of catching myself handle a hard situation & think, "Dad would have been proud of that one," as well as moments where my kids are acting up & my gut reaction would be to calm them down... but instead I hear my Dad say, "Leave them alone, Ksenie! Let them be kids."

I'm truly in awe of how much a simple change in mindset can make on your day to day living. It's honestly, so crazy powerful. Don't get me wrong, it's not like a perfect, magical equation -- you are still human & have your ups and downs, except there's this unmistakable underlying peace that grounds you. You keep coming back to that feeling & are better able to recognize your emotions for what they are.

Having someone believe in you is so important... but don't be discouraged if you don't at the moment because the power is within you. It always has been, and always will be.

My father was a walking example of that. He was able to believe in me because he believed in himself first.

Wherever this finds you, my hope is that it leaves you feeling a bit more encouraged & reminded of the incredible, manifesting being that you already ARE.
