Upside Down

...except nothing in the world seems right these days. Far from it. It feels like the rainbow is flipped upside down -- the hope it represents is still there, but there's A WHOLE LOT of work to be done, and that's an understatement.
Ever since last weeks #blackouttuesday I have felt like I just needed to continue to be muted, learn, pause, take everything in. As an empath, there were days everything just felt far too heavy -- it's hard to comprehend this world we are living in and the injustice & racism that continues to this day. It makes me feel disheartened, disgusted, angry, & just downright sad.
I used to think that "LOVE IS ALL YOU NEED" -- if you love unconditionally, what else could you need? But I'm realizing that, even though LOVE is vital and a power in & of it's own, you also need to educate yourself & your loved ones. You need to stand up for what you believe in. You need to 'try' to place yourself into someone else's shoes -- although this is virtually impossible to do, it does open up your eyes to the reality of the world around you. We were all created equal, however we have NOT been treated that way in the slightest. This needs to change & I believe it begins within our homes first.
We have to do & fight for what is right, and I believe with all of my heart that we know in our core what that is.
