Your Story : Stephanie

Mar 19, 2014 Your Story, Giving Back
i always get SO giddy prepping an i want to know YOUR story...
each & every story has touched my heart & brightened up my day in so many ways.

without further ado,
it's time for the next i want to know YOUR story
please meet Stephanie.
this is her story.

who are you, where are you from, what excites you, what is your PASSION... what's your story?

I am from Detroit
via Southern California,
via New York,
via Grosse Pointe.
All of these places have helped to influence & shape who I am.
They have ignited passions,
kept my fire lit
& opened my eyes to all the beauty in the world.
Although I've had many chapters,
each chapter signifies a stepping stone & in my experience,
these stepping stones can bring us closer to finding our true self. Many people, places, lessons & memories.

things that excite me:

creativity, collaboration, meeting kindred souls,
vegan mac 'n cheese, hope, the moment just before the sun sets,
hugs, awkward moments, uncontrollable laughing,
a good sweat, learning, traveling,
great coffee, dancing, breakthroughs, ethnic food,
passionate people.
my passions:

helping people be the change they seek,
nourishing food,
cooking for others,
chosen family,

ive based my businesses (Naturally Empowered & Detroit Gypsy Kitchen) around my passions;
to be of support to others,
to share and learn,
to empower,
but also to hold myself accountable,
because sometimes we all need a little help.
i feel like i am finally living my truth.
there is nothing more gratifying than being there for someone on their journey.
what are 3 words that describe you & your LIFE?

- soulful
- passionate
- empowered
what do you love? who do you LOVE?

we're not at the quote part yet.... BUT...
this is how I am trying to think about love :

"it's not about how much we love,
it's about how much we don't hate."
last, but not least,
what is your most favorite quote?!

The Dalai Lama was asked what surprised him most,
he said,

"Man. Because he sacrifices his health in order to make money.
Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health.
And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present;
the result being that he does not live in the present or the future;
he lives as if he is never going to die,
and then dies having never really lived."
ps. when i had the honor to capture the pics for HER story,
i also got to experience first hand one of Stephanie's INCREDIBLE dishes,,,
a scrumptious seaweed salad. it was SOOOOO good!!!
i still daydream about it.
