minus the cold weather & my birthday, i could have easily mistakened the month of January for June or July. i have also pretty much come to the conclusion that no matter how old i get & how much i strive to achieve the 'perfect' balance in my life,,, i will always be wondering where the time went & if things will ever slow down, just a tad. definitely NOT complaining at all,,, just sayin'.

i am also getting better at understanding that if i want time to slow down, i have to be the one who makes that happen. a very hard concept to wrap my work-aholic brain around. however, i am trying inch by inch, so i give myself an 'A' for 'acceptable effort'. ha!

needless to say, my lil ol' blog here has been a wee bit neglected. which in turn means that my creative self & mind feel like they might just explode if at least a few of the things that i have been wanting to share are not posted soooon.

instead of feeling overwhelmed at the thought of 'where to start?'... this little diddy below came to mind on my walk with Jones-ers today. one of my bestest friends, Jac, sent me this months ago because she thought i would enjoy it -- and enjoy it, i did! if you have a few minutes & want a little smile to curl up onto your face,,, i suggest you read below!

...and with that, i leave you this image of one of my favorite places in the world,,, Firenze, taken from my recent travels for Ciao Andiamo. when i look at this image, it takes me to a time many moons ago where i really began to learn & understand the importance of the beauty that is naturally all around us. be it in nature, people, buildings, animals, sounds, smells.... truly, everywhere we are, everywhere we look, there is something to be discovered, something to be enjoyed, something to be lived.

why is it that no matter what type of a weekend you had, there is just always something about Mondays? for some reason, it takes just a little bit longer to get out of bed & the traffic seems just a bit worse than it was on Friday, & your mind says 'GO! things to be done, many things to be accomplished. SO much to do!'.... but your body can't help but linger on the thought that if only you had hit the snooze button one more time that morning you would be feeling that much more alive right now?!

yes, it's Monday. as a photographer, my weekends haven't really existed much for years & the actual days of the week all seem to just mesh together... and yet,,, somehow i still tend to get thrown into a case of Monday-itus here or there. it is sorta along the same lines of how i still get giddy about TGIF's & feel more calm on Sundays -- despite working seven days a week. i am not complaining in the least -- more so find it quite interesting how much society can impact our mindsets!

yesterday one of my bestest friend's, Jac, sent me this video of the Black Eyed Peas performance on Oprah's 24th opening season kickoff show. i don't know if you have already seen this or not but i HIGHLY encourage you to take a minute to watch it. i literally watched it three times yesterday because it placed the biggest smile upon my heart & face.

so i thought to share it today because truly, what does the day -- Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday -- really have to do with the potential of how great it is going to BE?! i don't know...

what i do know, though, is that today, yes TODAY,,, why it's going to be a good, good day. that's for sure.

happy wednesday! today's "wednesday's whimsy" is a couple of my favorite images taken at my nephew's baptism. regular blog readers may remember my nephew & godson Vincent from a previous post on this blog... however since then, he has become a BIG brother to Dominic Michael! unfortunately, i have been so crazy busy that i haven't had time to properly introduce this newest addition & love to my life --- so i figured what better way to show him off then on his baptism day!
