each & every time i get to do another i want to know YOUR story, i am reminded of the vital importance of sharing, connecting & being open to the world.

we ALL have our stories & they are all beautiful, valid & true. if we choose to, we really can be in this together.

i am so thankful to those who have shared, who are wanting to share & have yet to share. thank YOU!!!

with that said, it is due time for another inspiring & motivating i want to know YOUR story!

without further ado,
please meet Kristin.
this is her story.

who are you, where are you from, what excites you, what is your PASSION... what's your story?

My name is Kristin Darga – I grew up in Troy, MI
but have spent most of my adulthood finding HOME in different places
(Ann Arbor, MI; Park City, UT; Brooklyn, NY; Denver, CO).

People, life, adventure and love excite me.

My passion is living life for TODAY,
which is something I am still learning how to do!

My recent adventure of LOVE, LIFE and HOME is one I am incredibly proud of.

The best thing that happened to me was the biggest heartbreak I’ve ever experienced,
followed by losing a job I loved.

I felt like I’d LOST IT ALL,
but I ended up happier than where I started.

I am what I like to call an accidental ‘multi-entrepreneur’.
I am owner of a Non-profit & Small Business Consulting Studio,
and a Wellness & Health Coaching business,
and this is how I got here.

A couple years ago I thought I was going to spend the rest of my days with someone whom I shared a love with for over a decade.
When our relationship ended, I wasn’t sure of anything anymore,
but I knew I needed a break from NYC.

In May 2012,
I was granted a remote position with my employer since I often worked remotely from Michigan or Brooklyn.
I was granted a 6 month trial and officially left New York City in August.
I felt like everything was working out perfectly.

But then a month after I took my job remote,
while in Michigan helping with my mother’s recovery,
I lost my job.

I decided that day,
that it would be for nothing if I didn’t make it worthwhile.

Sometimes the best things in life don’t go according to plans,
so I hit the road in September 2012 to travel the country.

I traveled to Duluth, MN;
Spokane, WA,
Santa Fe, NM,
Glacier National Park, MT;
Park City, UT;
and lived in Seattle, WA;
Portland, OR;
and Edwards, CO.

I planned to continue my travels through

Austin, TX;
New Orleans, LA;
Asheville, NC;
and Portland, ME

but I tore my ACL 4 days before I was supposed to move,
so I decided to stay in Colorado for knee surgery and started a consulting business.

It’s been quite a journey,
one that evoked a spirit in me that reminds me what it’s like to feel alive
appreciating living in the now instead of anticipating the future.

That feeling I found within myself again,
made me realize I wanted to help other people find what makes them tick,
and create a balance in their life that strikes gold.

so I decided to become a student again this spring at the
Institute for Integrative Nutrition
to become a certified Health Coach.

Even with road bumps on my journey,

I am exactly where I am supposed to be,
writing the story I was meant to tell.

I am sitting in sunny Colorado
running two businesses,
building a third
and taking classes.

Two years ago I wouldn’t imagine this would be my life today.

If there is something I’ve learned over the past couple of years with unexpected twists,
it’s that my life is happening right now.

I may never be in this place with the people who surround me the way I am today.

I am so lucky to know how to make the tough events in my life meaningful and positive.

The events that led me here to a life I love and appreciate,
created a response in me that wants to help others find it within themselves.

what are 3 words that describe you & your LIFE?

Embracing fated opportunities

or

CREATIVE,
ADVENTUROUS
& COMPASSIONATE

what do you love? who do you LOVE?

I LOVE being honest to the people I love,
true to myself,
traveling and learning about people.

Since I lived in Argentina when I was 16,
I’ve always found that living in a new place shows the true spirit of the people.
When I visit a place less than a month,
I don’t truly get to know it,
because knowing a place is knowing the people.

I LOVE my family.
My parents are such supportive pillars in my life and my mother is my business coach.
I wouldn’t be who I am today without the supportive family and friends in my circle.

last, but not least,
what is your most favorite quote?!

There are so many quotes that fueled my travels and ambitions;

“DREAM as if you will live forever,
LIVE as if you’ll only have today.”

I found this one on your website:

“You must never be fearful about what you are doing when it is right.“
~Rosa Parks

And...

“Your life is right now.
It’s not later.
It’s not in that time of retirement.
It’s not when the lover gets here.
It’s not when you’ve moved into the new house.
It’s not when you get the better job.
Your life is right now.
It will always be right now.
You might as well decide to start enjoying your life right now, because it’s not ever going to get better than
right now, until it gets better right now.”

~Esther Abraham-Hicks

thank you, Kristin, for sharing YOUR story.
you are awesome & truly inspiring!
