. special .

you know... there are some people in this world that just really know how to make you feel
so special (and if i could make the word 'special' sparkle & shine to emphasize it, i would!). be it in the words that they say, the cards/letters/notes/emails that they write, the actions they make, or the thoughtful gifts they give.
i have been
incredibly blessed to have such amazing clients throughout the years -- many who have done one or all of the mentioned above on more than one occasion.
every single time something like this happens, i always think to myself, "
i really should blog about this!" --- because it made me feel
SO special & i wanted the world to know
how very special these people who thought of me are.
a little while ago i shot an esession for a very dear couple, Chelsea & Dan. in fact, i have mentioned them before on this blog (to see that post just
click here!). when Chelsea & Dan first contacted me about their wedding, i knew from the very first email that they sent me that we were going to click -- they are
super-uber open, warm, welcoming, geniune & loving people. the type of people that just make you smile with their presence.
when i shot their engagement session (
stay tuned cause that post is next!!!!), we talked about all sorts of things (
truly!
) & one such topic was Chelsea & mine's infatuation/love of
CO Bigelow Mentha Lip Shine from Bath & Body Works.
side note --- if you haven't tried this product before, you really need to treat yourself to one SOON! they are absolutely the best... great moisturizer for your lips, along with a minty fresh breath taste! ---
end pitch.
it was at this time that Chelsea mentioned how much she really loved
CO Bigelow Mentha Lip Tint because it gave you the perfect amount of tint on top of all its other wonders! i told her i was going to have to check it out and onward we moved with our many different conversations that day.
it wasn't too long after that that i received a package in the mail with an amazing card from Chels & Dan in thanks for a fun esession,
as well as a
CO Bigelow Mentha Lip Tint in the color Violet Mint ---- it was then that i had one of those "
omigosh i feel SO special! i really need to blog about this!" moments.
unfortunately, i ended up not blogging about it because i started to really second guess myself as to whether or not i
should.... i think at times i forget that my blog is my life's work
and personal journal.... lately that
personal part has been a wee bit neglected.
so when i received yet
another most awesome package in the mail just yesterday from Chelsea & Dan (see below -- can you even believe that terrific packaging?.... & you should see how adorable the inside of the card is too!):

(
and yes.... that is
indeed a whole assortment of mini
CO Bigelow Mentha Lip Shine along with mini candy canes (oh how i *heart* mini things so!))....

...i knew that i
had to blog about this... i wanted to shout off of the rooftops a big "
THANK YOUUUUUU!" because that is how overwhelmingly wonderFULL my heart felt.
it is the fact that they thought of
me, that they took the time to decorate & write some of the sweetest words i have ever read... the fact that they slowed down enough this holiday season to show the love they feel.... that is something
so special, just like the two of them.
so, as i stop with my ramble (as i could easily go on & on!), i hope Chelsea & Dan's gift of
thought, more so than any material part, serves as a reminder to us all this holiday season to slow down & soak it all in. many of you most certainly will not need this reminder.... however, i know i sure did.
thank you Chelsea & Dan! thank you for being the beautiful, heartFULL people that you are. it is no wonder to me that you are each other's soulmates.
happy Sunday my friends,
ksen
snowy.day
it was a snowy, snowy day in michigan...
one creature named Emollock (pronounced like "ma-lick") cozied up on a mad mesh of duvet & pillows.
while another, named Beebs, watch the snow fall happily perched from her spot...
...and we musn't forget the pup, Jonsie who so very badly wanted to play!
"what's that?!" did someone say 'Jonsie wanna go outside?'
his eyes glimmered with hope.
"why *ruff* isn't anyone *woof* budging?" he thought and sighed.
he could feel the sunlight tickle his ears...
and with one last attempt, he gave his Mom his "enough with the dang camera, pleeeeeease let's go play" look...
and off they went!!!! needless to say, Jones & the snow are best friends forever.

and as they retired indoors, they watched from the window as the snow continued to glitter around them in the most magical, wondrous way.

just a little post to hopefully put a smile on your face today! i hope everyone is enjoying the snow & finding a bit of time to actually stop shoveling and play.
happy snowy weekend!

trish.&.steve

truly... where do i even begin?!
Trish & Steve (whom you might also remember from their radtastic
esession) were married at the very end of September & it was
quite an eventful, MOST happy day

(as you will easily see from the images below!). after their ceremony, which took place at the incredibly
Most Holy Redeemer Church, Trish & Steve left plenty of time to take advantage of some great photo fun in downtown Detroit! from beginning to the very end, it was a day of constant smiles, laughter, joy & the true definition of love in every form.
***warning! this is a HUGE post.... but believe it or not, there are even more images to be viewed at the end of this post in their slideshow!!! be sure to check it out!
dearest Trish & Steve! to say that i have really enjoyed getting to know you both over this past year would be an
understatement. you are two of the most amazing, genuine & loving people who always,
always manage to make me laugh out loud every time i am with you.

thank you for being so open & warm with me and for allowing me to get to know you even better. through this experience, i am
definitely able to say how fortunate i am to have such amazing clients, but even more so, such amazing
friends. thank you for that.

i wish you the type of happiness that is only dreamed about. i hope your big sneak peek below makes your hearts smile! happy blogging... as always, more to come soon.

the hairstylists were awesome & uber talented. Stacey Marentette (who did both Trish & her Mom's updo's) & her business partner, Christine Withington (who did her MOH Jolan's updo), from Salon Cure in Windsor :
getting ready!
tre sexxy:
this photo is very dear to my heart. Trish is holding an image of her sweet dog Bugsy, who unfortunately is no longer with us, but most definitely present in spirit... especially that day :

:
can we say editorial or what?!
Trish, looking absolutely stunning :
her make-up artist, Beth Forrester from
Todd's Room in Birmingham did a phenomenal job :
the remarkable
Most Holy Redeemer Church in Detroit :
loooove this shot of Trish right outside the church before the ceremony :
meanwhile, Steve was ready to see his bride!
...and looking quite dapper himself

:
yes, i loooved her bouquet, but i also loooove this shot taken right before she walked down the aisle.... there is just something about it :
her comes the bride!

fine art guestbook album to go with their wedding colors :
...and of course it was a huge hit!

seriously, way.too.much.FUN!
it would not be me, nor Trish & Steve, to not take an opportunity for some artsy, romancy late-night shots :
aren't they the cutest?!
...it was
truly an unforgettable day & night.
