SIGNS WITHIN

Yesterday a beautiful red cardinal landed on our stroller a little over 6 feet away & began to sing. It was one of those moments that just felt like time stopped. It was definitely hard not to feel my Dad’s presence & brought us to tears.

Our son recently learned how to whistle & basically hasn’t stopped ever since. Today I was listening to him whistle away while getting ready & realized his whistle sounded a bit like that red cardinal’s song.

Then it hit me — what if we have it all backwards? What if we tend to look for signs but when in reality they are already within us? We hold the wisdom, the joy, the SONG? We just have to be open to receiving it.

At the very least, it reminded me how much my father’s spirit lives on forever within each of us, & in my opinion, within every person he touched in his life.

As Maya Angelou said so perfectly :

“I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”

... & that feeling will forever live on, if you let it.
