thoughts upon a sunrise

  Monday, 3.10.14

we just returned from the Mayan Riviera,
where our dear friends Lauren & Steve were married at sunset at the most beautiful venue,
and Mark & i stayed an extra bit for some well-needed rest, uninterrupted reads, sunshine & to see a couple more of those glorious sunrises.

on one of those precious days, in the early morning breeze... where you could just begin to smell the humidity of the day,
we walked along the cool sand & i snapped a few pics of the sunrise,
all the while with this quote ringing in the back of my mind :

“Our job in this life is not to shape ourselves into some ideal we imagine we ought to be,
but to find out who we already ARE and become it."

from the incredible book, The War of Art by Steven Pressfield, that i mentioned before in this previous post.

and then followed by another quote from his book,

"Here's another test. Of any activity you do, aks yourself:

If I were the last person on earth,
would I still do it?”

yes, it's Monday, i know...
& this might be too much needed 'brain-power' to start off the day,
but with the tingling of spring in the air, i couldn't help but share these thoughts with you, too.

if you were the last person on earth,
would you still be doing what you do?!

are you so busy shaping yourself into what you imagine you ought to be,
that you are missing what you already wonderfully ARE?

as this winter season slowly (finally!) turns a page & a new FRESH spring season begins,
i don't know about you, but i want to be living authentically & only do what is upon my heart.

above all else,
i want LOVE to shine
and to soar the way i was, & already am, divinely created to.

... and that, my friends, on this sunlight Monday,
is my wish for you, too.

xxoo
